Our Bathurst Church Plant

In 2009, Caleb and Renee answered a clear call from God—to plant a church in Parkes, NSW. Driven by faith and excitement, they left their comfort in Ballarat and moved to a small town with big dreams. Through Generocity's proven partnership model, they received the pastoral care and mentoring from seasoned church planters that would prove invaluable in the months ahead. In April 2010, just three weeks after welcoming their newborn daughter, they launched their first Sunday service in a local school classroom.
What began small quickly grew—moving into a large school hall, launching youth nights, and weekly connect groups following Generocity's ministry model focused on Sunday gatherings, Connect Groups, and community partnerships. A few years in and GC Parkes' own building was renovated and the church blossomed as everyday people found hope, community, and purpose. The support of being part of something bigger than themselves, while maintaining the freedom to respond to their local context, proved essential during these formative years.
In 2014, God shifted their hearts again—calling them to pioneer in Bathurst. Without hesitation, and with the backing of Generocity's "one church, many locations" approach, Caleb and Renee handed over the Parkes campus to Associate Pastors and set out to start anew. Drawing on the wisdom and accountability that comes from Generocity's regional church planting experience across NSW, they launched GC Bathurst in February 2016 in a local school hall with a small group of passionate families. After three years of dedication, supported by Generocity's holistic support system, they purchased and renovated a terrific, multi-purpose building—serving the community beyond a Sunday gathering with youth programs, plus a café & florist, providing employment opportunities for people of all abilities.
Caleb and Renee are passionate about coming alongside the everyday person, empowering them to find restoration in God and to discover their God-given talents and equipping them as everyday people to have an eternal impact for our extraordinary God. Their journey exemplifies how Generocity's partnership enables church planters to see potential where others see limitations, transforming regional communities through vibrant discipleship communities.
