We see a conference that reaches out and generously resources and equips our region. We have a heart that seeks to serve with genuineness and excellence as we partner with others to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ, reaching the lost to see lives changed as we impact the community we live in. We desire to see that each person, regardless of age, status, church and background would have a supernatural experience with God and be released to fulfill the mandate that Jesus Christ has placed upon their lives.

SHANE WILLARD

We are very excited to welcome back Ps Shane Willard this year, who at GC Conference 2017 deposited such inspiration for reading God’s Word and getting everything available out of it. Shane is from Charleston, SC (USA), where he began working in full-time ministry as a youth pastor of a small church. Since that time, Shane has held multiple pastoral positions at various sized churches.

Shane now ministers full time in America and internationally, particularly in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. With degrees in both clinical psychology and theology, Shane is known for being an informative, brilliant and humorous communicator. Shane is mentored by a pastor with rabbinical training and teaches the context of the Scriptures from a Hebraic perspective. This perspective helps people to see God’s word in a completely new way and leads them into a more intimate relationship with the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

THE HORIZON PROJECT TEAM

It is our great honour to announce that The Horizon Project Team will be joining us for GC Conference 2019, all the way from Nepal! This incredible team of Nepalese locals are passionate about creating change that remains in their nation. With a heart for child welfare, medical outreach and church planting in remote communities, The Horizon Project is a prime example of courageous influence for God’s Kingdom.

YOUR HOSTS

BEN & LIBBY STAINES

Ben and Libby Staines began pastoring a church in the rural community of Narromine in 2004. As they raised their young family there God began to impress on them a heart and vision for regional and rural Australia and reaching people in both large and small communities. From Narromine a church was planted in Parkes followed by Forbes, and at the same time, other churches became a part of the Generocity Church family across NSW. With expressions in over 10 locations, Generocity Church has been able to connect with people all over Australia as well as starting a church in Nepal as they also minister to people throughout that nation through medical camps and a children’s welfare centre.

Generocity Church is passionate about people having an authentic relationship with God and with other people – this involves a contemporary approach to church life, discipleship and community engagement. Our hope is to Connect our Community to Christ in such a way that leads every person to become someone of courageous influence for the work of Christ no matter their sphere of influence, interest and responsibility.

Ben and Libby moved to the regional centre of Wagga Wagga in 2016 with their four children Isaac, Bianca, Abbie and Ethan. In 2017 with the help of an amazing local team planted another campus location of Generocity Church which has seen great growth and acceptance in the Riverina region.

DURING CONFERENCE

PRE SERVICE ACTIVITIES

Come early and grab a coffee and something to eat from one of the food vans and enjoy the pre-service activities from 5pm each evening as well as live music to entertain you whilst you eat. This will give you a chance to meet someone new or catch up with friends. There will be tables and chairs for your convenience, so come and make the most of this time. Doors open at 6.30pm for entry to the night sessions which will begin at 7pm. Doors will open at 9am for our morning sessions.

Womens afternoon tea

Building on the success of the last few years, Conference is offering another Women’s Afternoon Tea, which will be held at the Savannah Room at Taronga Western Plains Zoo (Obley Road, Dubbo) at 2:30pm on Thursday 3rd October. The cost will be $16 p/person and payment is required when registering. There are limited spots available so get in early!

MENS BREAKFAST

For the 2nd time, we will be offering a Men’s Breakfast which will be held at Dubbo Christian School between the Hall and Gymnasium at 7am on Thursday 3rd October. The cost will be $15 p/person and payment is required when registering. 

TECH HANGOUT

If all things church tech is your thing then we encourage you to register to be a part of our tech hangout. We will be running a workshop on Wednesday Night after the night session. We will be meeting in the music room and dinner will be provided.

GC Youth Hangout

If you are in Year 6-12 or are a Youth Leader at your local Church, then we want to hang out with you! On Wednesday 2nd October, after the night session, we are planning to hang out together. Location TBC.

COFFEE AND FOOD VANS

Coffee and food vans with a variety of options will be onsite, during both morning tea and the pre-show in the evenings. The coffee van will also be available before our morning sessions. We encourage you to bring a bottle of water to keep yourself refreshed.

RESOURCE TABLE

Our resource table will be available when doors open before each session, 6.30pm for the night sessions, and 9am for the morning sessions. There will be plenty of speaker resources available, as well as THP items for sale. Eftpos will be available. You can also check the resource table out after each session and in between our morning sessions.

GC Kids Conference is the perfect school holiday event for children aged 2 through to grade 6 at school. Kids Conference runs alongside all main-event sessions, right next door to the GC Conference auditorium, and is divided into the following age groups:

Yellow: Preschool (ages 2 – 5) 
Red: Kindergarten – Grade 2
Blue: Grades 3 & 4
Green: Grade 5 & 6

GC Kids are sure to have an unforgettable experience as they learn all about Jesus in a safe, engaging and FUN environment.

SAFETY AND SIGN-IN INFORMATION

GC Kids Conference volunteers are strictly screened, specifically trained and must be cleared with a NSW Government Working With Children Check. Further details about the sign-in process will be emailed to parents and caregivers closer to the date of the event.

CAPTAIN & THE COACH

Captain and the Coach are coming back to GC Conference 2019 with their pre-service shenanigans! This home-grown duo bring laughter and life as they raise funds for The Horizon Project. Join in the fun from 6:30 pm in the main auditorium before each night session, and help contribute to an awesome cause.

Discover a practical and purposeful approach to engaging and influencing people for the Gospel in our homes, schools, marketplace and community.

An open discussion to help build healthy relationships that are authentic, loving, honouring and flourishing.

Tools, tips and thoughts on growing a church in the areas of media, audio visual and tech on a budget - without compromising excellence.

Every child sees the world and learns uniquely – be inspired by creative ways to parent and lead children in to a loving relationship with Jesus Christ.

FRIDAY

The marketplace needs faith-filled Christians who are courageous, creative and innovative. In this elective we will explore what Kingdom-driven business looks like in a modern world.

Hey youth, we know you have lots of questions. This is your chance to get answers. In this elective we invite you to put Shane ‘on the spot’ and ask him anything (really, anything) you would like to know more about!

Deep dive into the discipleship pathway - this elective will explore practical ways to grow people and build teams in your local church.

As disciples of Christ we must discover who we are, and what we have in Him. Let’s settle the identity issue once and for all.

THE WHAT
THE WHY

The Exchange is to create a place to profile and highlight creative entrepreneurs, and also create space for intentional conversations around business; what it means to be a Christian in business, how people are doing business differently, and kingdom principles for business.

The idea is less about a ‘market’ or people directly buying things, and more about an exchange of ideas, creative inspiration and conversation.

Creative Entrepreneurs get a chance to talk about what they do and why to those in the pre-show crowd and also a chance to connect with other like-minded people. And if you sell your products, and connect more with your following, that’s great too.

This will also contribute to the greater message and vision, which is being courageous and stepping out, taking risks, and building influence in the world of business. This is also a great opportunity for us to contribute and invest in the great work of THP.
